Unibet's British regulatory record contains two enforcement actions against Platinum Gaming Limited, the company behind unibet.co.uk. The more recent announcement, in October 2025, set out a £10 million penalty, a warning and an independent audit requirement. For Bookie Hunt, the repetition makes customer-protection controls the central issue to examine when assessing this version of Unibet.

The 2025 findings included a customer who lost £5,000 within a day of registering and more than £16,000 in under three months without being identified as at risk. Another customer exceeded a £2,500 loss limit within 16 minutes of opening an account. The Commission also identified shortcomings in money-laundering risk assessments and customer checks. These are historical findings from the regulator; they do not establish whether the required changes have since resolved each failing.

In March 2023, Platinum Gaming had already received a £2,937,599 penalty. That announcement identified failures to detect separate accounts held by the same person, including customers able to register after being blocked or self-excluded on 32Red. The £7.1 million headline covered both Platinum Gaming and 32Red Limited, so it would overstate Unibet's portion to attribute the entire amount to its operator.

Platinum Gaming's current register entry, account 45322, still shows active remote permissions for casino, bingo, real-event and virtual-event betting, and pool betting. The published penalties therefore should not be presented as a licence revocation. Our concern is the documented recurrence of control failures under that active licence, especially the earlier breakdown involving exclusion across accounts.

The two Commission announcements identify the relevant company and domain; they do not establish Unibet's licence position or deposit terms in every country.
